Case Study: Localising for Growth
How TTC wetranslate and Achaleon Delivered Results for Revenue Retriever
Introduction
Our client, Achaleon is a marketing specialist in the software and technology sector. They have been working with Revenue Retriever, a software start-up that helps veterinary practice owners address the problem of misbilling. Vets often forget to add items to customer bills, costing them between 5% and 10% of their total revenues. Revenue Retriever is an innovative software solution that integrates with veterinary practice management systems, analysing each consultation to identify where additional products or services should be added to the bill.

The Challenge
Revenue Retriever had begun working with multinational veterinary groups, with decision-makers based across Europe and beyond. Initially, they needed help localising their website and support documents in Zendesk. Following the success of this engagement, they asked us to review the localisation of their product interface and to produce new translated voiceovers for their product demo and other videos.
The documentation for Revenue Retriever comprised:
- Website
- Help files in Zendesk
- Software
- Marketing videos
The immediate priority was to provide translations in Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish. They approached us just as they were finalising a major overhaul of their website. Keen to avoid duplication of effort, they asked for our advice on how to create and update content in Zendesk in the most efficient way for translation and content uploading.
We were tasked with localising software files (.po file format), website landing pages, Zendesk content, and video scripts.
Challenges included:
- Leveraging repeated text across different platforms
- Maintaining consistency across translated content
- Providing a cost-effective solution
- Ensuring translations could be easily updated in line with ongoing client revisions (i.e. leveraging existing translations to ensure consistency and reduce costs)
- Completing translations without causing delays to the client’s launch schedule
The Solution
We implemented a solution that connected the client’s Zendesk platform to our translation management system, enabling the creation of translation memories. This allowed the client to reuse existing translations, make minor amendments where necessary, and ensure consistency across all platforms and different versions.
This approach enabled us to utilise the same translation memories across website, software, and help content.
Video localisation: We began by creating transcripts of the English-language videos produced by the client’s marketing agency. Our translators then translated the scripts, which were recorded by professional voiceover artists. The marketing agency then integrated the new voiceovers into the videos.
As a result of our work, the client received Spanish (for Spain), Portuguese (Portugal), and Swedish versions of the following:
- Landing pages with contact forms
- Localised software
- Localised Zendesk content
- Localised video introductions
The Feedback
The client was delighted with the end result and received very positive feedback on the translations from their contacts in the respective countries.
Philip Jones, Director of the marketing agency Achaleon (www.achaleon.com), commented:
